Armenia to Be Represented at the Para Swimming World Series in Paris

Armenia will be represented at the upcoming Para Swimming World Series stage in Paris, scheduled for May 1–3, as national team athlete Garik Mikayelyan prepares to make his international debut.

Mikayelyan, the 2025 Armenian national champion, is set to compete against top para swimmers from around the world. Prior to the start of the competition, he will undergo official athlete classification, a standard procedure that determines eligibility and competition categories in para sports.

The Armenian delegation is led by team manager Mariam Sahakyan, with Armine Nahapetyan serving as team assistant. The technical staff includes Hrayr Sirekanyan, while media relations are handled by Ruzanna Varderessyan.

For Mikayelyan, the Paris event represents a significant milestone—offering not only his first exposure to international competition but also a valuable opportunity to gain experience and measure his performance against high-level opponents.

The team’s participation has been made possible through the support of the H. Hovnanian Family Foundation, Zinvori Tun NGO, and the National Paralympic Committee of Armenia.

Armenia’s para swimming community views this competition as an important step in the continued development of the sport and the strengthening of its presence on the international stage.
